Our care team and staff members represent a community of wounded healers—a unique gathering of practitioners and professionals who have survived and recovered from trauma, or have supported loved ones through personal struggles with trauma. Our team aims to carry forward a message of healing and hope to those who currently struggle.
As a PTSD survivor, Jason uses his expertise in Sales, Marketing, Operations and Executive Leadership to extend a message of healing and recovery to people affected by PTSD, worldwide. Prior to cofounding Exhale PTSD Recovery Centers, Jason’s career focused on the business development of multi-state sales and operations; however, through a house fire accident, he has found his true calling to help other individuals and organizations understand the plight associated with PTSD to ultimately offer every guest a true exhale of relief.
With experience in building successful customer-facing strategies resulting in increased brand loyalty and customer satisfaction, Tammy is the ideal person to lead Exhale’s client relations team. As the spouse of a PTSD survivor, she has first-hand experience of the struggles people face with the effects of trauma every day. Through her own struggles with PTSD, she has come to understand the true benefit of recovery and now uses her skills and experiences to influence the lives of others, through her unique perspective.
Director of Finance
With a BSBA degree from Robert Morris University as well as a master’s degree in accounting from Waynesburg University, Janet gifts the Exhale business team with over 20 years of accounting and leadership expertise. However, surviving her own journey through PTSD recovery is what has brought her to the team. She believes that a level of empathy and hope must be provided to our guests in order for them to feel welcomed and supported throughout their program.
Alex is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. He started his career working with at-risk youth in a respite setting. Alex then got a master’s in counseling from Arizona State University, graduating in 2015. He shortly afterward began working in the addiction field. Alex found that he enjoyed working in that field, helping individuals to overcome hardship and find themselves after the trauma of addiction. He participated in several trauma focused trainings and found a passion and curiosity in working with trauma. Alex has worked in PHP, IOP, Residential, and Inpatient settings. Alex has completed several trainings on trauma and loves the work that he does at Exhale.
Licensed Associate Counselor
Katie started her career as an educator and worked in the school systems in Oregon and Arizona for 16 years. After receiving an MS in Education and an MA in Administration; Katie finally decided to follow her passion for counseling and got an MS in Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Every day she gets to do what she loves and work with people to help them achieve the personal growth they desire. She has found that working in the field of trauma is where she sees the most growth. Katie is EMDR certified, using it to help people shift their perspective and lower the disturbances brought about by painful experiences. Katie believes it’s an honor to work at Exhale and walk with guests through their recovery.
Licensed Master Social Worker
Alicia began her counseling journey as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor while serving our country in the United States Air Force. She completed a master’s in human services with an emphasis in Crisis Response and Trauma in 2014 and a master’s in social work in 2019.
Alicia takes an eclectic approach to healing built on the foundation of compassion and positive regard for the client; Alicia truly has a heart for people and their healing journey. She has been with Exhale since day one; using Solution Focused Therapy as well as Internal Family Systems and Narrative approaches to help guests heal. She has experience working with guests in recovery from substance abuse and dependence. She is well versed in treating anxiety and depression using a CBT approach. She is also certified as a Parent Educator for Positive Disciple Parenting.
Alicia knows first-hand that life is both beauty and pain, joy and sorrow, blessings and struggles. She brings a deep sense of compassion to the counseling relationship and desires to sit with you in the dark until you are ready to step back into the light. Alicia helps weave treatment to facilitate healing both the past and the present to help create the beautiful future guests are capable of living. Her passion is to walk with you as you heal and grow into the person you envision being. She is excited to help you regain vision and purpose; to encourage and empower you to create the life you desire.
Alicia has a heart for Christ, who is the greatest Counselor, and ultimate Healer. She is ready to invite the Holy Spirit into session with those guests desiring that spiritual piece.
Laura has had a love and passion for movement for as long as she can remember. She majored in Dance and Physical Education and has worked in the field of health can wellness for over 25 years. She feels her purpose is to guide individuals to heal the whole body; mind, body and soma (soul). Laura continued her education at the South West Institute of Healing Art, completing her 800 hour yoga therapy program with specialties in Yoga Nidra, polarity, holistic nutrition, Reiki, and Life Coaching. Upon completing this training, she went on to complete the Somatic Therapy Training at the Novato Institute for Somatic Research and Training. Laura is also a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Laura knows the healing process intimately and feels honored to have the gift of coming alongside each guest as they journey back to themselves. She is grateful that she gets to help remind guests of their very essence, the breath of life, their light, their soul- helping others to live a life of freedom and ease
